Passport Police Verification Process

After successfully completing your passport application and document verification, you will have to go through the police verification process for the passport. Usually, you will be informed of the police verification process 4-5 days after submitting the form. If you are not informed, you can go to your nearest police station and ask them about your verification process.

This is a formality to verify your authenticity and documents. You can check the status of the passport after the completion of this process.

Why is it mandatory to go through the police verification process for issuing passports?

The police verification process ensures that the passport is being issued to the right person and does not go into the hands of the wrong person.
